Madhya Pradesh

Last week I was in Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal to be exact but not exactly. On Sunday, 13th, we pushed off to Sanchi and Bhimbetka.

Next day, as part of my work, I had to do a tour of rural branches of State Bank of India. We had a workshop in Bhopal so as part of this, I was given a car and along with a local officer went off around MP. Over three days, we covered 1200 km visiting over 30 villages and small towns.

The work apart, the travelling across the country was an experience by itself.

The Tropic of Cancer: Have lost count of the number of times we crossed this. This is on the road to Salamatpur / Vidisha from Bhopal

Green fields: If green indicates flourishing agriculture, then we saw a lot of it.

Hariyali, the rural mall: The prices are really stunning. And there is competition as well from ITC Choupal Sagar.

No Pollution: The air is clean, the sky clear and the sunset can be seen without the usual fog / haze / smog whatever you want to call it.

The roads are really bad and the general standard of driving quite chaotic. But with a good driver and some cooperative friends, had a great time.
